It didn't even creak when it broke, so I had no idea as I generally don't have the hand strength to normally break these things. Now I did manage to continue threading the bolt until it secured to the inner side, but there's a screw head sized hole on the one end where it broke clean through. I didn't measure (don't have the tool), but I'd bet this is something like 5-10 mm thick. Once assembled it's surely sturdy and shouldn't wiggle on a flat surface, but it was Real easy to accidentally tighten to the point that it sheared through the metal. I did managed to accidentally over tighten a bolt and quickly found out just how weak the structural design is. Everything appeared to be symmetric and it generally assembled with ease. The first one appeared to be a prime specimen visually and structurally (to a point). I got two this (first) time and had com pletely different experiences during assembly.
